Create parallel tracks for storing MIDI

Post by MikeDVI »

Hi all, just a trick I do...

When setting up a drum track, or anything midi really, sometimes I put a "dead" track right above it. Now when swapping around clips I can store them in that parallel dead track. You could do this with lanes as well, but I found that got a bit confusing as to which are active and which are not.

So, for example, Superior Drummer track has another track right above it called "Superior Storage". When swapping around or experimenting it saves me a lot of hassle going back and forth, or when testing different clip patterns for verse, chorus, bridge etc.

Side note - - I used to put a "storage area" out past the end of my songs, but that was a ton of scrolling and digging around.
