Got it as soon as it was released and like it a lot.
Very nice 550 emulation modernized with a fourth freq knob and adjustable ranges the original hardware lacked.

Hint/tip: Watch your gain structure. Get it right and this thing shines.

PS there are about a million EQ VSTs (including those that come with DAWs) out there, many for free. What is supposedly better about this?

Overloud makes great products. I'm been a longtime user of their reverbs and Guitar amp sim.

If you got a capacity reached message, then try again earlier in the day tomorrow. They do say they would limit the free licenses per day, so if anything it proves they're not lying (That, and the fact others have gotten it with no problems).

Finally, the EQ550 is modeled after the classic API 500 series EQ. If that doesn't ring a bell, suffice it to say there are many different EQs and types, some of them legendary, that affect sound differently... This is a pretty good rundown of the best-known ones:

well well, surprise, got it today...gave it an honest run..it's decent, nothing special, but it's free, for now.
don't think the $140.00 price tag is reasonable for this EQ
..I'd rather keep the $$ for Mixcraft 9 Pro.
