Free intro software is a snap, then you have to buy one of the millions of packs offered by NI.

The snare on MT Power Drum Kit 2 is just too irritating for my taste. I did communicate with the developers a year or so back suggesting they modify the software to allow the importation of audio samples. The reply I got back said they were considering it, but it looks like they never bothered in the end. However, it adds excellent definition and presence when operating in parallel with Perfect Drums.

As for Kontakt Player, I just gave up after being completely baffled by it. It must surely have been designed by someone with severe autism.

Toontrack EZdrummer isn't free, but it has good drum samples and you can add kits.

Comes with Kontakt Komplete Start, which is free. Register for that, and install ONLY Kontakt Player.

Hardly difficult to acquire. It's just a Sample PLAYER, and those are routinely given away (UVI Workstation Player, Halion Sonic SE, ARIA Player, etc.).

Kontakt Player only plays licensed Kontakt Sample Libraries. 99% chance that any free library you find will require the full version of Kontakt.

If you try to edit anything with Kontakt Player, it will fall back to Demo Mode. You won't be able to save anything.

If you're really hard up for instruments, though, Komplete Start is a decent package, and you should check it out. There are some nice sound/loops/one shots in there.

Why only install Kontakt Player? There's a bunch of other useful stuff that they give you for free, Like Reaktor and a bunch of ensembles for that, Guitar Rig, with a variety of usable modules, a couple of standalone effects, etc.

Mr. Ray 73 by GSi is most acceptable for a freebie Rhodes:

IK Multimedia finally released a free version of Sampletank 4, and I've played around with it and it's far superior to the free version of Sampletank 3, which used to crash Mixcraft, so I never mentioned it here.

https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/st4cs/

It has a really nice grand piano and a whole bunch of other sampled instruments as well. I've spent a lot of time with it in both Mixcraft and Cakewalk and it doesn't crash the way the last one did.

Hi,
Have you tried this as free orchestral instruments VST: (watch out, big downloads)
https://www.orchestraltools.com/store/home
And this as free instruments and ambiance sounds
https://labs.spitfireaudio.com/
I can say that, for free products, to my opinion, the quality is more than good!

Be safe and heathy guys!

grab 'decent sampler'
https://www.decentsamples.com/product/d ... er-plugin/
and then head on over to pianobook,
https://www.pianobook.co.uk/packs/
filter by 'decent sampler' and you may go down a sonic rabbit hole

This. I found Kontakt Player virtually useless because almost nothing free (or even cheap) works on Player other than in a demo mode, Not really worth the drive space. Today, a lot is coming out for Decent Sampler. I'd recommend that over Kontakt Player for that reason.
