Waves has known issues with their Waves Central system of downloading, installing and having DAW find the plugins. A lot of people have issues all of the time. Have you tried calling their customer support? I've heard their really helpful.

I have more than a few Waves titles. Theres only one I never got to work in Mixcraft, but I didnt put much effort into it. (Free bonus, One Knob Pumper, which I cant imagine ever using.)
I will admit to struggling with the installation of every title, every time I add one. Even after getting a better grip on the process, it just doesnt ever seem to work seamlessly. Usually I can get it to work, but on at least two occasions I have contacted customer support for assistance. One of those times they went so far as to step me through fixing it via remote access to my system. (Talk about weird experiences, watching someone go into your system files and work at rocket speed while you just sit back and watch!)

My biggest tip: dont move anything trying to get them working. That was my biggest early mistake. Their installation has a lot of files in various locations. Dont mess with them.
More often than not:
Run the Waves Central installer (with DAW closed)
Open DAW, rescan plug-ins.
Sometimes- close DAW, restart Windows, Open DAW.

FWIW, it appears to be an issue with users of many other DAW's, as complaints about the installation problems are widespread. Seems theres an "art" to it..

Hi,

If you're having problems with a Waves plugin, and it's the VST3 version, try the VST version instead.

Thanks Mark Bliss. I get hammered with Waves Sale emails. Wish i could make em work.

Thanks Acoustica Greg, not really sure if you can select what version. I just have to
use the ---_((****&&&&**^%%%%---- Waves Central, and hope for the best.

Hi,

Most or all should have a regular VST version, along with the VST3 version, as long as you install it.

You have the option during install to choose or install all versions.
But the version isn't an install problem as far as I have found, its a functional problem after installation.

The problem isnt clear, as its not described. Hard to help further without aimless wandering on the subject.

I got Waves Gold a while back for $69. I really only wanted GTR amp sim.
Seemed like a great deal since "regular" price is $799. After trying most of the plugins,
I rarely use them. Sometimes making an adjustment to a waves plugin will close
Mixcraft and if I haven't saved I will lose my work. I finally realized the Vsts included in Mixcraft
work really well and sound pretty good. Those sales sure are a big temptation though.

Hi,

Once again, if you're using the VST3 version of a Waves plugin and you have a problem, try the VST version instead.
