What are you using for a filter plugin?

Post by bigaquarium »

Good morning,

Unless I'm missing something, Pro Studio doesn't really have a performance-style graphical filter plugin like you'd find on say Ableton, Bitwig, etc... EZ-q probably comes the closest but isn't really the same thing. I suppose you could use the parametric EQ to do the same thing, but that's kind of deep for quick real-time filtering.

So what are you using to do this?

Thanks!

Hi again,

This RAZ filterbox seems to fit the bill really well, and is pretty much what I was talking about. Check it out!

Hey Nathan

Do you just mean for HPF and LPF basics?

If so I have tried a number of ways over time, but kind of settled into primarily using my own user presets, almost exclusively in NOVA.
Even if one of my presets doesn't fit the need exactly, its pretty quick and simple to set to what I want.
Stay in tune, Mark

Hi Mark,

Precisely, HP, LP and BP, limited functions, automation capable, graph style interface. Basically for using in the moment as an instrument rather than a mixing device. That one I posted comes pretty close, just curious to know what's out there.

For meat-and-potatoes EQ, my favorite is still MEQualizer from the Meldaproduction Free Bundle, and for "creative" filtering, you would be doing yourself a favor to check out MComb and MBandpass in the same bundle. There are

Meldaproduction just got done with a 50% off everything sale, which included the Free Bundle upgrade (which adds some capabilities to the Free Bundle plug-ins), taking it down to 25 euros from the usual 50, but they are great FX without the upgrades.

There's also FAT from SoundSpot, which is a freebie: https://www.soundspot.audio/downloads/f ... io-plugin/

Speaking of SoundSpot, they are running a 5 plug-ins for $5 special right now. I like some of their stuff. The only one to avoid like the coronavirus is Percolate.

IMO and FWIW Fab Filter ProQ is an absolute beast when it comes to anything eq I will EVER need.

Nathan,

I use FilterBank3 from Tone2

https://www.tone2.com/filterbank3.html

It's easy to use and versatile - a bit like your superb videos for which I would like to express gratitude for the quality and the effort you have put in to getting those videos out.

Hi Nathan

I'm with Mark on Nova, it's extremely versatile & use it regularly these days instead of Ozone 9 eq which does everything, but don't always want everything.

Might have had a look at RAZ filterbox but guess is only 32bit.
