slap back echo

Post by Wink »

I wanna try and get a rockabilly sound out of Mixcraft for a song. I currently just have a Fender Blues Jr with the reverb cranked up but I read that you need a good slap back echo pedal. Has anyone just used acoustica's delay to achieve this effect? I'll try some different things when I get home but I thought someone might be able to let me in on any secrets you have to achieve this sound.

Thanks!
Using Mixcraft, Beatcraft and occassionaly Cakewalk. Have a Les Paul and a Fender Blues Champ with a few pedals.

I like making original 3 chord punk and C&W. Also enjoy trying to make bad techno that will one day become okay techno.

Yes you can use delay for that, delay is actually what it is.
Use a short delay time with only 1 repeat/feedback.
You can also get that effect with the classic chorus, set the "Range ms" up to 160 or so.
