Yes, renaming dll files is not a good idea. Sometimes it works with Synthedit plugins, it used to be even necessary because of the old bug that prevented the usage of more than 2 instances of the same plugin.

Heres another thing I would like to see:
A simple method of inverting one channel of a stereo track and switching to mono for phase correllation testing.

I know some other DAW's and some plug-ins have this feature, maybe someone has an idea for clean implementation within Mixcraft.
Yes, this.

How would Mixcraft know which tracks are stereo pairs? Is there a way to mark tracks for that?

I'm imagining perhaps even going beyond pairs of tracks for surround sound applications where you could have a track for each speaker (up to 16 or something, who knows) (Sorry, I'm a noobie who only knows enough to be dangerous).

I do a lot of manual gain riding by using automation lines. Very often a section has to be boosted resp. attenuated evenly. It becomes quite boring and cumbersome to set four points every time, zoom in to align them for smallest transition, shift+move the line and zoom out again.

I have seen elsewhere the possibility to select the portion of interest with the mouse and then just shift+move the automation line within this section.

Note: workable as is, but would be a great time saver for extensive edits. But we are talking about a wishlist.

I second this....

I currently helped myself by renaming the vst´s, with prefixes like - "reverb - xy.dll".
But not all dll´s seem to let you do that unfortunately.

I find myself scrolling permanently through an endless list of vst´s with meaningless names and no structure.

BTW, the foundation for this is already layed in Mixcraft for the Acoustica effects.

Yes, one more vote for VST organization tools

When I balance the level of a track, I like to unburden the compressor (particularly if the action range is too big for a compressor) by manually adjusting the clip volume (through automation points.) Moving automation points (or lines) is not reflected visually in the clip´s momentary amplitude. (Note: I mean the clip volume, not the track volume.)

This is sometimes a bit of guess work, because the result is not visually displayed. The track´s amplitude looks the same as before. Superimposed automation lines do not give a very good clue as to the resulting amplitude.

I have seen this somewhere else that the momentary clip level gets visually boosted to reflect the changes caused by the automation line, which makes manual balancing very easy.

Maybe this can be incorporated into the bargain.

I think at this point I'm just going to say that I second everything Helmut suggests.....

Keyboard shortcuts are great for programs I use all the time. Unfortunately, this is but a hobby for me (at least until I become famous thanks to the auto-awesome button in Mixcraft), so having buttons is helpful for us who only do this thing occasionally....

5.1 support would be cool. As for stereo pairs, 1) that's written into some files through their metadata, and 2) Mixcraft lets you choose which channel is active for stereo clips for mono sound.
Although we could definitely use a sum to mono setting to test monophonic compatibility

1.) An onboard sampler- One of the few things FL Studio offers that Mixcraft doesn't.
2.) A note slice function (similar to the "Fruity Slicer" in FL Studio)
3.) Wider VST/VSTi compatability
4.) Better onboard sounds - Especially Drums, having to use the "Full Reset trick", to make the drums as loud as they already should be, takes up memory which can cause latency. Especially on busy tracks.
5.) Multi-sampled Drums- It would be nice to have pitched sounds (ie. Snares & 808-909 Kicks) to work with. I know this can be achieved with the pitch wheel. But it would be nice to have them spread over the piano roll via a dedicated drumkit.

Sends can send themselves. There is no reason not to that I am aware of and other DAWs do it.
Many tutorials that are made on other DAWs collapse on Mixcraft just because it cannot do this.

This is unnecessary because Mixcraft could compete with them no problem to achieve similar effects.

You could make a submaster this way.

An improved Mixer/console would be fantastic:

- Maybe to collaborate with specialists in console emulation like sknote (stripbus) to choose in the mixcraft mixer to have console behavings.

- a good HP and LP Filter on each channel in the mixer would be so helpful to clean up songs before mixing.

- a simple good compressor on each channel in the mixer (threshold, gain comp, slow/fast button)

- a good sounding eq with frequency selection (low, mid, high) and add/atten button

- a good tap saturator on each channel in the mixer

I have to say all the things above were inspired by Harrisons Mixbus Software.

I m recording in mixcraft and love it for its workflow for tracking ! So many good features, my favourite DAW !

For mixing i began to prefer harrison console mixbus as it feels like mixing on a console. You see everything in one window with good HP/LP filter, EQ and Compressor without having opened 20 vst plugins.

It would be a dream to include good console features in mixcraft, it seems to become more and more standard in the DAW world.

Think I may have mentioned this before, but this is my ONLY frustration in Mixcraft..

Would be so cool just to toggle between 'Auto Rewind To Start' and 'not' instead of having to go Preferences>Interface>Auto Rewind to start>tick/untick box>OK

It just so frustrates my work flow

* Multi Out channels like the one produced by EZdrummer should be able to send to send tracks.
None of the beautiful methods for building buss reverbs and parallel compression work with the current multi out tracks. :(

Several people have requested this over time I read in this forum.

Sorry if already mentioned:

Allow for the UI to be user-friendly (button sizes, etc) for touch computers.

Thanks for your great work,
