Re: Update to build 279
I need some information on the new version of mixcraft 7.1 479. I got my my 32 bit to upgrade
without any problems. But my 64 bit version would not downlow.

Re: Update to build 279
Hi,
There was a bug with certain old builds of Mixcraft 7 that caused a problem updating when you had both 32- and 64-bit Mixcraft 7 installed. If you're using standard Mixcraft 7, download the latest version of Mixcraft here. If you're using Home Studio or Pro Studio, download from the link in your registration email.

Re: Update to build 279
is this the last version before MC 7.5?
I'm thinking about reverting to prior 7.5 as I seem to be using a lot of CPU & RAM since that upgrade.
here is a screen shot of all the upgrades & their download sizes if that could make a difference.

Hi,
The last release build was 289. You're getting higher CPU? We haven't noticed anything like that. Send in your log file and we'll check it out.

email won't go through @ the moment so I'm replying here-
Hi,
What happens if you turn "Force Single CPU" on? Does that help?
Best Regards,
Greg

I tried it once & it didn't make a difference. according to the Intel Diagnostic Tool it's only running on one core as it is.
I just ordered 4GB of new RAM,and an upgrade to an Intel Core 2 E8600 3.3GHz processor w/ heat sink & fan. we'll see if that helps.

Re: Update to build 279
well,I finally figured it out.
a fake AdBlock Plus malware & a bad .EXE in Microsoft Security Essentials were loading up the CPU & killing one core of the processor.
it's in this post-

I have a bigger faster processor I'm putting in along w/ new RAM & a second drive so that should hold me for now until I do a completely new dedicated build for DAW.
EDIT- got all the new stuff in & it's running like a champ. the very most CPU I've had is around 30% & that's with quite a few large plugins & beaucoup virtual drum tracks.

Hi,
Wow, that's great news! Thanks for getting back to us on this issue.
Dang, malware that takes out a processor. That's pretty malo.

anyway, w/ the new stuff in & things running right I've had a full mastering chain,3 instances of Pultronic EQ,Acoustica drums on several tracks,Kontakt 5,& a bunch of other stuff running w/ 20 tracks and CPU is still under 35% @ the most and RAM around 1.6 gb tops.
not bad for an old 32 bit system w/ 4gb of RAM. point being, it wasn't Mixcraft but just a coincidence that it happened on the same day as the b282 Beta release.

There's an added bonus of mixcraft-log.txt -- you can see if all your processors are available.
