Recording Virtual Instrument Loops

In using Session Drummer in Mixcraft 4, when I'm controlling the drums manually from a keyboard, the virtual instrument track records perfectly. But when I find a drum pattern in Session Drummer I like and make it loop, the track won't record. This happens with other virtual instruments too. I've tried making certain the BPM is the same, but nothing seems to work. It's probably something quite obvious, but I'm not seeing it. Suggestions?

Hi,

Is this in Mixcraft 4 or 5? Which build are you using?
