Kinda funny, had to share:

Post by Mark Bliss » Thu Mar 02, 2017 9:25 pm

I was just messing around, playing a bass lick to some backing tracks I had whipped up, just running around some very simple C Maj shtuff.....and I had been experimenting with this really ultra distorted effect chain and wouldn't you know, accidently placed in on the "wrong" track.......

Before I reveal how silly this really is, anyone wanna take a guess at the instrument the distorted "pad" is based on?
Hint, it is not any kind of guitar or synth.

 Not sure if you mean it is so nasty it will cut through even a vacumm cleaner noise, or hopefully the vacuum cleaner will drown it out!
Thanks. I think. 8)

Nope.

I had a simple piano track, C Maj, F Maj, G Maj triads, practicing some bass scales and accidently put a crazy guitar amp emulation I was messing with on the piano track and, well....
It made interesting noise. 8)

Well, the early Misfits stuff used to feature Glenn Danzig playing an electric piano through a fuzzbox, thereby proving that even with the latest tools, it is difficult to come up with something new under the sun.

Or even something not old. :(

Still fun, though. The chord progression kind of reminded me of Buddy Holly's "Words of Love" oh damn, there I go again....

Wait 'till I lay some "audio control" mojo on it!

It reminded me a little of that "flaming Lips" sound. I think they are using a bass guitar, with an octaver and crazy distortion.
Those boys aint' right........
