Grey colour are being printed in a green tonality instead

Post by NaCo »

Acoustica is printing my CDs in some kind of Green tonality instead of the Grey colour that I desire.
It only happens on grey tonality, on screen I see the real colour, other software are printing the right tonality so the printer is working fine.

I have a Cannon IP4810 printing on BenQ Printable CDs.
Acoustica version 3.33

Could it be the file format?

Thanks for your help

Hi,

Make sure that all your ink cartridges are full. If that's not the issue, try running the nozzle check routine for your printer.

Did you finally manage to solve the problem?
Well, I've experienced the same but I doubt empty ink cartridges are causing my problem.
This morning I bought new cartriges for my Canon Pixma MG5250.
The printout for checking the nozzles was made splendid.
Printouts made out of other software (Word) are made also well.

Except when I make a print of a label or an inlay for a case, grey colours are more greenlike.
A pink colour shows yellow on the print.

It's a mystery to me ...
Who knows???

Hi,

Examine the printer properties in Microsoft Word. How do they different from the settings in Acoustica CD/DVD Label Maker? In the label maker, click Print, then click Properties. These are the settings for your printer. Try adjusting the quality setting. Also examine the media settings.

Thanx Greg for your quick reply.

Well, I've compared the properties in Word en Acoustica.
As far as I can see I've changed so that tey're both the same.
But, no result.

Still it's odd that the print I make for checking the nozzles, end I start it from Acoustica, it looks great!
What more can you think of?

Hi,

Canon has troubleshooting steps for this problem: FAQ -- No Printing Results/Printing Is Blurred/Colors Are Wrong/White Streaks

Hi Greg,
Thanx for the link.
I will see what Canon has to say.

But I've some results about decreasing the print quality:
- Printing an inlay for the case:
Print quality was set on Standard.
It looks good. The grey color was grey and the greenish tones were gone. Hurray!! But ....
Then I wanted to print another image with some pink an purple in it.
Now a grey line was purple!!!
- Printing a label:
Here it doesn't matter how the printquality was set.
The grey colors are blue!?!

What can be said about this?

Kind regards.

Hi,

You need to go through Canon's troubleshooting steps.

You could also check and see if there are any updated drivers for your printer on Canon's web page.

Hi Greg,
Well, I've got something to tell about.
I've tried a lot of things but the colors were still not ok.
But at the end (late in the afternoon) there was a result.

I've cleaned the nozzles one more time and made another printout, which was ok.
Then I changed the Properties in Acoustica again, print quality set to Standard.
Suddenly the printout was ok, the colors were ok.
I changed again, print quality set to High.
In the printout there was a little green tone in the grey color.
So turned back to Standard.

Ok, then I wanted to print a label on a printable dvd.
First I set print quality to Standard.
It looked ok.
I had to make 6 prints on a dvd and so I did.
The first 2 dvd's were ok.
The third dvd, I saw a little green showed up into the grey color.
The 4th, 5th and 6th dvd had something green in it, but still bonly in the grey color.
So the mystery persists, but when I can keep this quality I can live with it.

Conclusion:
The result will do for the moment.
Print quality set to Standard gave the best results.
The pictures I use for the label and the inlay for the case are printed not so big; so the difference in print quality High and Standard is hard to see.
I can deliver the dvd's to my customer, so I'm happy.
I will keep testing and I hope the results will get better in future, then I will let you know.

Greg, thank you for your support.
You were a great help.

Kind Regards
Edu (VidiNova) de Rijck
