Printable Disc selection menu

Post by joeretired »

I have Memorex Printable CDs, and I don't know which setting I need in the print selection menu for type of paper to use. The help screen says print/disc, but that selection doesn't appear in the menu.

Also reading some of the posts for printable discs, do I have to set certain values for printing on a printable disc? I have an Epson Artisan 810.

What settings do I need for printable DVDs?

Hi,

It's a little counter-intuitive, but all you have to do is choose the name of your printer in the Paper Type setting (which appears below your label design and also on the Print dialog).

If you don't have the Epson Artisan 810 in the list, download and install the label update from this page: list of supported jewel cases and printers for Acoustica CD/DVD Label Maker.

Sorry I haven't got back. I was on vacation. Thanks for the info. Never thought to look at the bottom of the label design. I think the little bugger was hiding on me.

Just one other question. I see 2 Epson 810's listed. One says "Full Faced". What does that mean?

Hi,

The "Full-faced" option gives you a smaller center hole so that you can print closer to the center. Of course, the discs you are using have to support that by having the printable area closer to the center hole.

Greg, is it possible for you to add the Brother MFC-J875 to the direct printers?
I have used Acoustica for years with my Epson R800,and loved the program.
The Brother j825 is listed but it won't work with the j875.

Hi,

If you try the existing Brother MFC-J825DW template, does it work?

Well ,I got the j825 template to work, but the color saturation is way off.
I went through a dozen cds, changing settings each time. They are awful !
They look like they are in draft mode.
I use the same settings with the cd label program and the copy label, where
you put a cd on the scanner bed and print a new cd. They look right on. The color
and saturation are perfect.
Is there anyone out there using a Brother printer with Acoustica that could post
the settings that work for you.

Hi,

Click Print in Acoustica CD/DVD Label Maker, and on the screen that comes up, click Properties. These are the settings for your printer. You can see whether you are in draft mode there.

Well I was having trouble with photo printing also.I updated the firmware from B to F and it seems to be working now. Still not as good as my Epson R800,because that used pigment ink and seems to be
pretty much water and smudge proof. Brother keeps flashing a warning not to use any label program but the low end one it ships with. Claims ink will get all over the inside of the printer. How they can claim their software is safer is pure BS.
I hope Acoustica 4 comes out real soon.
