It prints fine on paper. I wish it would print as well on CD's and DVD's

Hi,

So, it seems like the problem is the printing surface for some reason. If nozzle-cleaning doesn't help, and you do have the correct media type selected, I'm not sure what else to suggest. Have you tried contacting the makers of the printer? You could go to their support page and see if there are any further suggestions for this type of printing problem.

I have now posted an inquiry on the Canon printer support page. I tried using Canon's free software for CD/DVD printing to see if it was CD printing software related and got a similar result. It's peculiar to CD/DVD printing. Paper printing is fine.

I wound up working with Canon tech support. The bottom line is that there is a problem with the printer. Some additional things that they suggested doing were to clean the timing strip and removing and reseating the print head, neither of which fixed the problem.

Hi,

Well, that's frustrating. This kind of problem is uncommon from our perspective. Sorry we didn't have a solution for you!
