One fader to control them all

Post by teljax »

I'm pretty sure I've done this in MC before but I can't figure out how to do it again. In the mixer window how do I create a channel and use that one slide fader to move all the other faders with it? I'm using Studio Pro 6 build 191
Thanks

Create a submix track, drag tracks inside it, they will be child tracks and will be controlled by the level of the submix.

Sorry Eric, I'm a little slow. I can make the submix channel but I can't figure out how to drag tracks to it, they won't stay in the submix channel strip.

It is a bit fiddly - drag the track into the submix track and when the one you're holding turns a kind of cross-hatch texture, let it go. You have to be precise to make it work but once you've done it a few times it is really easy.

Thanks guys. Do I do the dragging in the mixer window or the window where the wav forms are?

Hi,

Here's a screen shot.

Image

Click and hold the mouse in the area with the hand cursor.

When you see the black area to the left of the track, you can let go and it will drop into the submix.

Thanks Greg, That black area cleared it up for me.
