lower volume keep fidelity, How?

Post by duncan »

New to software. Mixing background ambient file for hobby room. The file is largely sound effects of nature and railyards. (Can you guess my hobby? )
What is best method to lower the volume but keep (what I call) fidelity)....that is keep the fairly bright highs and clear as possible lows while dropping volume?
Hope this forum is friendly to beginners. :)

If you're using MC6 try EZQ Equalizer, it's great for people new to EQ. Just grab the green dot and move it the area that sounds best to you. All people new to MC are welcome. Have fun.

Train hobby?

Try some compression on the master track before the EQ. The compression will keep the dynamics minimal.
All the best,
