New User here with a question

Post by Shortboy »

I'm brand new to Mixcraft and I imaediatly have a question.

I'm trying to do so looping to put together a backing track and I'm confused.
My question is, if I'm creating a backing at 120BPM, do all the loops I need to use have to be at 120BPM, or can the ' time stretch ' feature actually change the BPM of a loop?

I would quess it maybe does, but when I use it I can't find on the menu where there is an option to set a different BPM, I can only change the milliseconds and things like that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Todd

Hi,

If you are in "Build Loop & Beat Matched Music" mode, you can just load up the songs and they will be automatically time-stretched so that the beats match.

To make sure you're in Auto Beat Match mode, click on the Project tab and verify that that option is turned on.

If a song doesn't have a clear beat, the software might not be able to detect it properly and you might get unexpected results. If the beats aren't lining up correctly, you can drag the snap point of a sound in the detailed view on the Sounds tab.

That sounds like exactly what I need Greg, but I can't seem to locate either the Project tab or the Auto Beat Match Mode when I open Mixcraft.

Where would these things be?

Thanks,
Todd

Hi,

Auto beatmatching is only available in Mixcraft 3, which is still being beta tested. You can find it here:
http://beta.acoustica.com/

If you find any bugs, please report them on the beta page bug report form.

Thanks so much Greg!

That may be just what the doctor ordered!

That automatic Beat Match sounds fantastic!

Thanks again!

You're welcome!

I'd just assumed you already had version 3, since you were asking about beat matching.
