Since installing in win8 I have to click notes twice to hear
Before, if I wanted to click through a loop note by note to find what was off I could do it one note at a time.
I recently got a new computer with win8 on it though and installed Mixcraft to it.
Mixcraft 6 btw.
Now I have to click the note to select it before I can click it to play it.
Its messing with the rhythm in my head.
Its like a reverse earwig.
Instead of the annoying tune you can't shake, I've got the annoying pauses between notes that shouldn't be there.
How do I make it work the way it did??

I use win7 and have the same issue. It is rather annoying.

Check in windows preferences for mouse control settings and see if changing them there make a difference.

I'm not really sure what I was looking for but nothing looked like it would fix this.outteh wrote:Check in windows preferences for mouse control settings and see if changing them there make a difference.
There was a mouse option to single click to open files but that didn't fix this.

I'll try to clarify this situation better. That is if we're having the same issue of course. When having already made a midi part, going in to edit from piano roll, it used to be a one click on any note to hear its tone. Now it seems you have to click it once to select the note, and click again to actually hear the tone. There's no settings to change this as far as I know. It started happening, for me at least, after a Mixcraft update (not exactly sure, but think it started happening 2 updates ago).

Yep, same problem.bbdrmz wrote:When having already made a midi part, going in to edit from piano roll, it used to be a one click on any note to hear its tone. Now it seems you have to click it once to select the note, and click again to actually hear the tone.
I didn't have it until I installed onto a new system so I guess I was behind on my updates.
Is it possible to un-update?
I suppose I could uninstall/reinstall and not let it update.
Hopefully though Eric will read this topic on monday and give us a solution...or an apology and an assurance it will be fixed.

Re: Since installing in win8 I have to click notes twice to
I checked b213 and it does the same thing: you have to select a note first, then click again to get the note to sound. I checked Mixcraft 5 and it sounds like you want, on the first click.
Anyway, I think it's currently designed that way. You have to click to select, then click again to hear the note. Don't know what priority Acoustica might put on changing it, but I have a feeling we won't see very many new builds before Mixcraft 7.

So did 6 until I installed on a new system.Vibrant Audio wrote:I checked b213 and it does the same thing: you have to select a note first, then click again to get the note to sound. I checked Mixcraft 5 and it sounds like you want, on the first click.
Its a feature I used quite often and not being able to has slowed progress down to a crawl.
Surely they would not have made such a change without providing a way to disable/enable it.

Yep. Not sure why this was implemented.corthew wrote:So did 6 until I installed on a new system.Vibrant Audio wrote:I checked b213 and it does the same thing: you have to select a note first, then click again to get the note to sound. Re: Since installing in win8 I have to click notes twice to
Build 216 had a fix for an issue with the eraser in the piano roll. That's why I checked b213 - I thought maybe the change happened then.
I don't have access to any builds prior to 213 right now.

I will probably need to submit a trouble ticket on this since it looks like staff doesn't read every single topic that's posted.

Re: Since installing in win8 I have to click notes twice to
Hi,
Believe it or not, this is a feature, not a bug. We were trying to avoid the note sounding every time you dragged it.
If you'd like, I could log a feature request to make this an option that could be toggled in preferences.

I can see how it may annoy some but that aspect was only a minor annoyance for me and worth putting up with for the benefit of playing through a clip note by note.

Hi,
Okay, I've logged this as an official feature request.
In the meantime, you could always just hit the space bar to toggle playback.
