New to Music Production? Check out this free Berklee course

Post by FlyingsCool »

Hi all,

I just wanted to say thank you to all who mentioned this course in the past, and let some of the people who may not have seen it mentioned know about the course...

It's a free 6 week online course and, man, it's totally opened me up to the functionality available in Mixcraft. I never would have guessed at this stuff on my own, and my investment into the course has really helped me learn more about about Mixcraft.

Check it out, if you're new to music production like me, it's a really awesome tool for learning. I'm in week 3 now and loving it :)

It is a great course, I enjoyed it. Good luck with your last few weeks.
There are a few more courses there worth considering too ;)

I agree, this was an awesome course.... I took it about 6 months ago I think.
Keep in mind, you can download all the videos and stuff so you can have them on your computer for later referencing.

Cheers

Another chance to sit this good, free course starting 20th April 2015.

It will give you a great insight into mixing and general music production

I'm just finishing up too. I was pretty solid to start but when it got to mixing I learned a lot! Good course, especially for the cost! :D

I don't see the free part. Every time I try to register it wants 61 bucks US which for me in Canada is almost 75 bucks. Can't do this at this point (starts tomorrow) but I'll keep an eye out for it in the future.

You should be able to sign up for free! Enroll in Coursera first and fan sign up for the course.

Try this link

One thing they recently started for these free courses is an opportunity to receive a " certificate ". This does cost money but is not necessary to take the course.

I don't think they will contact you, you just have to log in, and do the course at your leisure :)

I registered a couple weeks ago; got an email asking me to confirm my email which I did. Got a welcome email from the instructor - which in part said "I will contact you when the course begins".

Today - I have no idea how to actually take the class.

I can't login; when I request a reset to the password (which I was never asked to provide) it says my email is not valid. Even though I verified it from the email I sent requesting me to do that.

And I got an email form the instructor, so obviously they have my email.

I'm sure it's a great course; too bad the host site (Coursera) isn't.

OK - despite telling me it didn't work, it actually did. I'm now logged in. I have no idea how that happened. I've also logged out and back in successfully.

Sorry for all the posts.

It takes a while to learn to navigate their system, but its worth figuring out.

Enjoy the course Bill!

Yep, everything is go now. Watched the lectures last night and took the quizzes. I learned a couple of things I didn't know and I'm sure I'm gonna' learn a lot more. It's always fun to learn something new. :) Thanks again.
