Softsynths will not play

Post by joemac58 »

My two synths Messiah and Minimoog VA have stopped playing on my mixcraft 6 but they play on my copy of Mixcraft 5. I have used them on songs in the past all of a sudden they don't respond. they both sit next to each other on the soft synth list. I did a reinstall of the program but the problem still happens. when I uninstall the program should I search my PC and delete all files related to Mixcraft 6????

Hi,

Those virtual instruments might have been added to Mixcraft's ignore file, probably because of a crash. Here's how to fix this problem: use a text editor like Notepad to edit the vstignore.ini file and remove the names of any plugins that you don't want to ignore, then save the vstignore.ini file as plain text without changing its name and the virtual instruments should load the next time you run Mixcraft.

The location of the vstignore.ini file is as follows:

In Windows Vista, 7 or 8: C:\ProgramData\Acoustica\Mixcraft
In Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Mixcraft

what sampling rate are you using?
the Mixcraft manual recommends 48,000Hz & all my Mixcraft vsti's work flawlessly @ that rate.

Hi,

Try starting Mixcraft by right-clicking on its icon and selecting Run As Administrator.

If that doesn't fix the problem, quit Mixcraft and send us your mixcraft-log.txt file, which is located in this folder:

%appdata%\Acoustica\Mixcraft

Another way to find it is to click on the Windows Start Menu, select All Programs, then Acoustica Mixcraft 6 (or 5) and finally Logs. Submit an Acoustica Support Request and attach the log file along with a brief description of the problem.

Here's a short video: Mixcraft Mini-Tip: How To Find Your Mixcraft Log File

Hi,

Highlight this line and copy it:

%appdata%\Acoustica\Mixcraft

Press the Windows Key + E to open up File Explorer, then paste that line into File Explorer's address box. That will pop up the folder with the mixcraft-log.txt file.

Hi,

Click on the Windows Start menu, select "All Programs," then select Acoustica Mixcraft 6 and finally Logs. That should pop up the folder where the mixcraft-log file is located. You can then attach it to your support request.
