Transfering Mixcraft 6 To New Computer

Hi!
So, I just got a new computer so I can make more music. I used Mixcraft 6 Pro Studio on my old XP computer and have LOTS of custom settings and presets saved(sounds, custom presets on plugins, effects chains, etc...) and I want to transfer all of this to my new Windows 7. I'm curently going to try using BELKIN windows transfer software and a BELKIN transfer cable to do this. I know transfering saved sound presets are easy(I've done that before with a thumb drive) but will it transfer the custom presets on my plugins and other stuff as well uising BELKIN???
Thanks ahead of time for your help! Any tips or advice of better ways to do this would be great, thank you!
Love,
Jeremy

Hi,

I've never heard of that software, but assuming you have Windows Vista or newer, you need to transfer the files in the following folders:

%appdata%\Acoustica\Mixcraft\FX
%appdata%\Acoustica\Mixcraft\InstPresets

The "%appdata% part of those paths will resolve to:

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\

where "YOURUSERNAME" is your Windows login name. So, if you log into Windows as Jeremy, the paths would be:

C:\Users\Jeremy\AppData\Roaming\Acoustica\Mixcraft\FX
C:\Users\jeremy\AppData\Roaming\Mixcraft\InstPresets

Also, if you've got projects on the old computer, load each one into Mixcraft and select "Copy Project Files" from Mixcraft's File menu. This will copy all the necessary files for each project into a zip file or folder for easy transport to the new computer.
