Patches sticking "on" with Omnisphere 2

Post by Facto »

Playing a patch...all of the sudden it sticks and keeps playing a note when key is released. Only way to get it to stop is change the sound, then unplug and replug the usb on the controller. It happened every once in a while with Omnisphere 1 and other synths. But after upgrading to 2 it happens quite often. Trying to figure out where the issue lays....Mixcraft 7 Pro, Omnisphere, my keyboard controller, PC....not sure. Windows 7 Intel i5 with 16 megs RAM. Acorn 64 Key controller. Any ideas?

Hi,

If a virtual instrument somehow misses a "note off" command, the note will keep playing. You can press Ctrl+Shift+M to silence the note, or choose "MIDI Reset!" from the Mix menu.

If the problem is only happening with that plugin, then the plugin would be a likely suspect.

Omni 2 is apparently still pretty buggy. In case you weren't informed, there is a new upgrade available as noted here. It might help.

FWIW I also had the same problems occasionally on 1. As it didn't happen on any other of my libraries I assumed it was an Omni bug. When you get 2 working, how about a little review of 2 vs 1. Worth the $$$????

Thanks for the link to the update. I had no idea. Omnisphere 1 worked fine for me but Omnisphere 2 in Sonar causes the engine to drop out before recording anything. Just auditioning the samples is all it would take. I've tried it in MixCraft and aside from it being a little sluggish its been okay. That said I just upgraded to MixCraft 7 and haven't had time to really push the envelope with it yet. I'm going for the update.

I downloaded the latest updates for Omni2 and it works much better in Sonar now. No more dropouts and I am seeing a much smoother performance. Latest update is: 2.0.3d
