Midi Problems

Post by Foxcrusher »

I've used mixcraft before and have changed back and fourth from instruments to usb interfaces and to my midi keyboard

I purchased mixcraft 7, and since using it everything has worked great(that's a lie) except Midi keyboard,

I get no response from using my midi keyboard.

I've selected it as a virtual instrument
I've picked the instrument and sound
I've checked volume levels
I've checked inputs and outputs

My midi controller is on when doing all this
My midi controller is plugged in

I've tried as hard as i could to solve this on my own, but I'm at loss now.

Anyone have anything this drastic before, all the similar problems and solutions i found were all very pedestrian fixes.

Any help or direction would be nice and appreciated

It would help to know brand and model of the keyboard.

Hi,

Yes, what kind of MIDI keyboard do you have? Is it a USB keyboard, or are you using an adapter? Are you sure MIDI data is making it into your computer?

With an adapter, the most common problem is a bad connection. The "MIDI Out" on the keyboard must be connected to the "MIDI In" part of the adapter cable.

Admire Greg's response. Not sure I would have acknowledged the request after the unnecessary expletive comment at the end of it. Good to see the Mixcraft rep was able to lift above the unkind words, and still be of service. Kudos.

Try to find that ANYWHERE else. Much respect for these folks as always. 8)

+1. Greg's a saint or zen master.

I on the other hand never bothered to scroll to the bottom of his message. Had I seen that I wouldn't have responded either..... shades of ball, his last incarnation at least. I was just ticked that people expect help without leaving pertinent information.

Greg's response is so representative of the professionalism and willingness to help that is so prevalent with the Acoustica gang. That's just one of the things I like about Acoustica/Mixcraft. :D
