Which Version

Post by asimmd »

Hi All

I am using my 7 day extension to demo the software before purchasing.

My problem is I can't decide which version to get.

I have used most DAW's and I am sick of Sonar crashing so it's time for something new.
Any advice on which version to get would be appreciated.

I am 68 years old and record at home,I have a lot of plugins Universal Audio Waves etc
and I put my music on websites I am a member of so it has to be right.

Don't let the age fool you I'm no doddering idiot............yet.LoL

Hi,

Standard Mixcraft and Mixcraft Pro Studio 7 are the same except for cosmetic differences, but you get a whole bunch of extra plugins with the Pro version. Here's a comparison chart: Mixcraft Compare Chart.

If you need the plugins that come with the Pro version, then it's a really good deal. If you've already got all the plugins you need, then standard Mixcraft 7 might be the way to go.

Hi Greg

Many thanks for the reply.
I think it fair to say I do have most if not all the plugins I need so the Standard
Version is probably the way I will go.

Hi,

Great! If you haven't already done so, download Mixcraft 7 and give it a try.

We have helpful tutorial videos here: Mixcraft 7 University.

Hi Greg
Thank you,I am all over the demo version and I can't get over how easy it is
to get a multi track tune recorded.

Everything was so intuitive I really didn't have to think about it.
I know my experience with other DAWs will have made it easier
but it's so easy I thought I had forgotten something.

The Mixcraft 7 University is really useful and I have watched a few videos.
Again they leave nothing to chance and everything is explained clearly.

Is it true that all the plug-ins he might have might not all work? Maybe some guys who have been on board since earlier versions might recommend what to do because I can't know what I'd be missing.

Anyway, I am a newish pro user and would recommend that you skip a few Tai-Chi classes and go "Pro."

Thanks for the comment.

I think the best I can do is while I have the demo working
I will try out all my plugins.

All I need to do is point Mixcraft to the relevant folder where the
plugins are kept.

Mixcraft has found most of my VST plugins but Universal Audio
are powered by its own hardware PCI-e card and won't show in a
VST scan.

Hi,

Mixcraft 7 has a nifty stealth feature: you can drag the DLL for a plugin into Mixcraft and Mixcraft will then recognize that plugin and its folder.

Hi asimmd, welcome aboard. I'm 63 years old and love how easy it is to lay down tracks with Mixcraft. Either version will be a pleasure to work with. Personally, I use the Pro Studio version.

Thanks guys
I think I should ask all the Pro users what made them choose Pro over
the Standard version.

That may be a better question to ask.
