I think Ian means:

In many forums if I type (for example) @Ian Craig it would automatically send a notification to just Ian that I replied to him. It can be a very handy little feature.
But I am aware, Acoustica has no control over the forum hosts programming. 8)

Oh, right. Yeah, I don't think phpBB supports that.

Tagging? You can add hyperlinks to other posts if that's what you mean.

Greg, I am a musician, composer, sound effect sculptor, not a computer programmer. I don't actually know what a hyperlink is

Yes, thank you Mark, that is exactly what I meant. 8)

Do they have an email address so that I can raise it as a suggestion for them, then ?

Ooh, someone's gonna hate me for this...…

Turns out phpBB is open source, and they have a user base that develops all kinds of assorted custom extensions that can be added by the site webmaster...…
Hint, the desired one in this case is called "simple mentions"
(I can locate it if more info is needed Greg.)

So there ya go. Ians suggestion stands. 8)
(BTW, it appears "smilies" is an example of one of those extensions, but it may have been incorporated into the standard software at some point in its history.)

While were on this topic, one of the features I like from some of the other forums I've been on is the ability to see part of the post by just hovering your mouse over the thread link. This way you can preview it without actually clicking it. It's a time and bandwidth saver too.

Since this thread is about Mixcraft suggestions - not Acoustica.com suggestions - no it doesn't. :)

Thanks Mark. If Greg will just note of that now, that would be great :)

Hi,

We're still using an old version of phpBB for this board, so the first thing would be for us to update to the latest version of phpBB, which I believe is required by the extension that Mark mentioned.

I'll pass your suggestions along to the webmaster!

This will undoubtedly be my least popular suggestion from Acoustica's standpoint, but really: make the trial period 30 days. That's pretty standard, I think, and more than reasonable. Two weeks simply isn't enough for many of us working full-time and trying to have some kind of life in between checking out DAWs.

Hi,

We're having a great sale right now. Now would be a good time to buy.

lol. Tempting. But not much point in buying a DAW when I don't have a studio to record in. :) Never fear it is on the list, just a timing thing.

PS I didn't see that sale advertised anywhere except the "buy now" page, not even your home page. ?? Is that on purpose?

Hi,

We emailed our mailing list, and we're advertising it on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Google+).
