I'll bet the Acoustica team are by now wishing they'd allocated only one suggestion per person.

How about a basic operating system designed just for Mixcraft so we can completely do away with Windows?

Hooray! If you guys don't mind, would it be all right if it ran on the Zilog Z80? -h
LOL I was thinking more along the lines of early 90's DOS - so it's actual sole purpose was just to make sure all the parts functioned as one piece.

Okay, don't know how hard this one would be to implement.

I collect a lot of VSTs. I would imagine everyone does. Eventually, the time comes to cut down on these, or upgrade the drive again.
So I guess the features I'd be looking for would be a quick way to find all the VST dependencies of a Mixcraft project (or all the projects in a folder). Loading each and every single one and then going into each and every instrument in each project to find the VST being used (as a single VST can have several preset names) is very time consuming.

Mixcraft can scan many folders for new VSTs, automation that works along those lines would be amazing.

If a new track tagged onto the end by default it would keep things nicely organised just as it started.
Ya know what? This seemingly minor detail bugs the crap out of me.
Adding a track? Make it the last, or give us an option please. Good suggestion.

Link track automation to clip. It seems that when I move a clip I must separately move the automation in MC7. (unless I'm missing some way that is already provided.)

Verbose "Undo" commands, i.e., the operation that you are undoing or redoing is shown on the menu.
+1 for this, it works brilliantly in Photoshop (where I use it a lot), just a history panel/window

To be able to highlight multiple envelopes and mute and unmute all at the same time

It would be handy to have a "Revert to Saved" option.

Selecting this from the file menu would load the most recently saved version of the current project. This way I can try a whole load of weird and wonderful options (and believe me I can come up with a lot of weird options - not always intentionally :D ) knowing I can really quickly get back to my last good version.

Cheers

Mixer setting snapshot. Maybe 4 snapshots so that different mix/master/FX settings can be saved and then compared for final mixdown.

I'm surprised more people haven't been asking for MIDI SysEx capabilities, as JohnS requested. There doesn't even need to be support for any specific SysEx messages-- as long as SysEx messages aren't removed from the incoming MIDI data, are stored with the correct delta time offsets, and can be manually added or edited, that would be a huge help. But it would be even better if Mixcraft automatically kept a database of SysEx messages as it encounters them, with the user being able to add messages to the database manually and attach descriptions to them.

Along with SysEx, Meta Events would also be great, especially Sequencer-Specific messages. I guess that's problematic since Meta Events are never transmitted in MIDI. Nevertheless, it would be really nice to be able to add them to tracks which are going to be exported to MIDI files.

How are things looking for Mixcraft 8 release team?
I may stir the pot a little here, but I truly want to know...... Are there any plans to adapt Mixcraft to OS X like I just read the news Cakewalk is finally doing with Sonar? Yes, I have a win 10 laptop with Mixcaft on it, but my main use computer is an iMac running El Capitan, and even though it's an older one (2008), it runs like a champ with almost all DAW's and plugins I've thrown at it.....within reason of track load and such of course..... But hey, it was had for $300 from another studio guy, what can I say! ;)

We don't currently have plans to make a Mac version of Mixcraft, but some people use Mixcraft on Macs with products like Apple Bootcamp, Parallels Desktop and Crossover Mac.

I have a couple of suggestions for things I would like to see in a future release.

1. The ability to add MIDI clips to the library. This was always useful when I used Garageband 10 years ago
2. The option to change automation from connected points to instant steps for tracks, and steps to connected points for clips. Maybe with the option of bezier curves for the connected points.

EDIT: I forgot one other thing.
3. The ability to select automation and have it move with the MIDI data. For example pitch wheel data locked to associated MIDI note when moving along timeline.

EDIT 2: Yet more :)
4. After discussing things with another user it seems like the ability to reroute note data from the instrument chain to another track where it can be recorded as note data would be really useful. This would allow data from a VST step sequencer to be not only passed onto any instruments below it in the chain as it does now, but also allow that data to be recorded into an instrument clip to be used elsewhere or manipulated as regular instrument clips can be.

Thanks for a great product.

Colin

Would be awesome for a stuttering plugin and maybe a vodex plug in that would rock! 8) 8)
