VST Problem
Help! I recently purchased Mixcraft 7 Pro Studio. I love the program except, I feel like I'm getting punked. My setup is as follows: Asus Comp running Windows 7 with more than the required space for this program. My audio interface is an M-Audio Fast Track Pro connected USB and my MIDI Controller is a Casio WK-1630 Keyboard. Everything works like a charm with the Acoustica VSTs, but when I try to use my IK Multimedia Composer Trio (SampleTank 2L,Miroslav Philharmonik Classik Edition, and Sonik Synth 2), I get no sound at all, either through my midi controller, or even if I record something with their VST and switch it to IK, still no sound. Its extremely frustrating, and I have went through many settings and have uninstalled and reinstalled the programs numerous times. I also have updated them from the IK Multimedia website. Please help, as I would really like this to work properly.
Re: VST Problem
It might just be a bug, try to report the bug, and see how acoustica can help.
Re: VST Problem
Miroslav Philharmonik latest version: 1.1.2 works with MC7 Pro x64 build 279.
have you select a instrument for your Casio WK-1630 Keyboard MIDI input channel ?
you should see pressed keys of your Casio WK-1630 Keyboard on Miroslav Philharmonik plugin keyboard

Re: VST Problem
Yes I have selected an instrument. The pressed keys and sound only show up on Acousticas VSTs. I get nothing from the IK VSTs. I've selected all midi channels and have went through they individually as well with no luck.

Re: VST Problem
I can verify IK Multimedia Sampletank 2x, Philharmonik, Sonik Synth, Sampletron, Samplemoog, etc. are all working fine in MX7 here as well.
I don't have to "tweak" anything, I click on the track's instrument icon, select VSTi instruments, browse to the IK instrument of choice and select it, open the GUI via the edit button and browse the menu and select an instrument (patch), and it works.
It's probably a frustratingly simple setting. For diagnostic purposes, have you tried:
Clicking on the IK GUI keyboard keys with mouse?
Open and try the Mixcraft virtual keyboard?
As Hermu asked, do the IK keys change when using your Casio for input? How about with the virtual keyboard for input?

Re: VST Problem
Check that your track (or lane in case you want to do multi-timbral) is set to the same MIDI channel as set in the Miroslav UI. Also quite awhile ago someone (clavguy??) had an issue with his keyboard only broadcasting on MIDI channel 3. You might want to search up that thread to see how the issue was resolved. BTW Miroslav works fine for me also.

Re: VST Problem
last but not least - are you sure, that your 'IK Multimedia Composer Trio' product is authorized using the Authorization Manager ?

Re: VST Problem
When I open the edit function, I can click on the keyboard keys with my mouse and it makes a sound, but it will not record the sound. When using the midi keyboard, I could only get sound from Acousticas VSTs. I authorized them for a third time yesterday with still no success. Not sure what else to do

Re: VST Problem
Are you arming the track? Do you hear a sound with the track armed?GuitarJoeSI wrote:I can click on the keyboard keys with my mouse and it makes a sound, but it will not record the sound.
What exactly do you mean? Do you mean you get other sounds by default? Or do other VSTis work but just not the IK VSTi's?GuitarJoeSI wrote:When using the midi keyboard, I could only get sound from Acousticas VSTs.
Going into a little more step by step detail might help us to more accurately help you.

Re: VST Problem
The only sounds I can hear are acoustica sounds. Whether the track is armed or not, I do not hear sound from IK VSTs that I have mentioned. IK Amplitude works, but not the Composer Trio VSTs. If it's a bug, is it an acoustica bug or IK bug? If I report it, will it be resolved?

Re: VST Problem
I doubt it's a bug, If it were I think some of the many other users with those plugins would have been reporting it already. And like several of us have verified, its working for them.
Do you mean that when you try to get the IK VSTi to work, you get the wrong sounds? Or do you mean that the IK sounds don't work, but selecting the other sounds does? Or is it perhaps defaulting to the Acoustica grand piano?
This is important and we need to clarify:GuitarJoeSI wrote:The only sounds I can hear are acoustica sounds.

The IK sounds don't work but the Acoustica sounds do work. It doesn't play the wrong sound, I get no sound when selecting IK VSTs.
Re: VST Problem
If you would read Hermu's and my first posts again carefully this time, more likely than not the solution is there. Pay special attention to the words MIDI CHANNEL.

Re: VST Problem
Have to agree with Chibear. Highly likely that it is a MIDI channel setting somewhere.
But there are multiple areas where there are MIDI settings to consider. Many of the questions asked are intended to help locate the problem and we are still lacking several clear answers I think.
For instance, knowing if the keys in the GUI visually respond to your Casio keyboard activity would (I think), help narrow in on whether the probable incorrect setting lies. IE: Input or output side of the data path.
I am by no means a master of this subject, but I am sitting here picking apart the settings in a nearly identical setup that works, in hopes of helping you.
