Back to Old Faithful - again!

Post by TrevsAudio »

Hey fellas!

Spent most of this year trying to master another DAW (the 'R' word  ) and although it has some excellent features and is limitlessly customizable in appearance and work flow, I had to sit back and take a hard think...

I'm just a single musso recording one instrument at a time from a small humble spare bedroom studio. Do I really need all the bells and whistles of a pro engineer? Recordings were taking twice as long and this old brain was battling to cope with all the new terms, methods and shortcut keys.

So starting today, I'm moving back to Mixcraft because it's what I know. I can open up, start recording do my editing and mixing, mix down - all without problems. My new keyboard integrates perfectly and with the latest MX update and Windows 10, I'm ready to fly.

Plus I missed you sorry sods

Welcome back! Ya, I've been to that one....very briefly  and looked at a few others searching for MIDI editing nirvana, but even with the one I liked the most, it's at best a giant step sideways workflow-wise, a ton more $$, and a support forum whose typical first response is rtfm, which happens to be almost 1000 pages

Good to see you back.

Whew! As long as it wasn't the 'C' word DAW...

Mixcraft 7.5 has a lot of spiffy nuances that even I -- the perpetual student -- have noticed.

That's one thing about the Swedes... they're really into their music.

So, will we'll be seeing your copy of the 'R' DAW listed on E-Bay or will you be holding on to it 'just in case.'

Nope! It's done my head in proper mate

Even the stuff I was working on has been mixed down to WAV's and is being completed in Mixcraft.
