What Frequency Does Mixcraft Pro 7 Record at?

Post by thewebninja » Fri Nov 27, 2015 6:47 am

I must say I was a little surprised that the Technical Specs were not listed ANYWHERE in the Program Details or on the Web Site OR in the Manual PDF. The fact that I even have to ASK what the Recording Frequency is, makes me think, maybe this is not as "Pro" as I think it is. The Platform looks fantastic, but if it is recording in such Low Quality that you don't even want to MENTION it, then maybe I should be looking at something a little better Quality?

In the Future, (Speaking to the Developers now) IF you are looking to serve MY needs better, You can save all the Fancy Instruments, and Samples, I don't care at all about that, what is important to me is Recording Quality, the ease of use of the Platform, I like to be able to Plug my MIDI USB Keyboard into a Program and have lots of different sounds to use like Dubstep type shit. Not Rock Guitar or Drum Machines, or a half a dozen other things that I am not going to use. I like Soft Synths, but I am planning on Recording REAL Drums, so I don't like the idea of paying for a bunch of stuff I am not going to use. Produce something that is Trimmed down on all the bells and Whistles and Amped up on just plain GOOD Recording Quality, and you will have a more Professional Product.

Let me know what the Recording Frequency IS if you can.

Thank you

Hm. There seems to be a conflict of interests going on inside of you. :P

The "recording frequency" is completely dependant of your own equipment and drivers. If you have a sound card that allows 8 bit mono @ 8000 Hz and no more, then that's what you're gonna get. No DAW in the world will give you quality above what's supported by your hardware.

I must say i'm a little surprised that you use THAT TONE while you apparently have no idea about how recording in a DAW works. I'm tempted to throw the "pro" thing right back at you.

A little less of "serving MY needs" wouldn't hurt either IMO. Other people may find everything you just disregarded very useful. Their needs are no less important than yours from a company's point of view.

Oh, and welcome to the forum. 8)

Why do they call it BLACK Friday? I heard that term years ago, when I was working for Sears. It seemed, at the time, that it was a term indicative of the fact that the customers were going to be of some nuisance on that particular day.

Anyway, I sure hope the 'developers' can handle upgrading some of their testing hardware as well. My recommendation? I thought you'd never ask...

Hi,

As Juno mentioned, the sample rate and bit depth you can record with in Mixcraft is determined by your audio hardware.

If your sound device supported it, you could record at a sample rate of 192000 Hz and a bit depth of 24-bit if you wanted. Whether that's a good idea depends on a number of factors. You might be taking up lots of extra hard drive space with no discernible improvement in quality. The CD audio standard uses a sample rate of 44100 Hz. It depends on what you'd be doing with the audio.

One more correction, since it seems accuracy is going to be scrutinized here today......

Be nice, the OP may not realize he isnt on one of THOSE forums. Give him a chance to quit gnashing teeth and he might turn around.

Whoops! Post edited.

441,000 Hz would be a not-standard sample rate. LOL

That would be an audio interface designed for bats, I think.

You'd obviously want the maximum sample rate for a bat audio interface to be higher than 200K. :P
