I would not buy an APU for music applications. For games and normal computer stuff they are pretty cool, a bargain even. The problem is that when the built-in graphics unit is busy, the CPU clock automatically gets reduced, leaving you with mediocre processing power.
Get the Athlon counterpart instead because, while it is basically the same chip inside as the corresponding APU, the built-in graphics unit is permanently disabled, so the CPU clock never gets axed.
