Getting Error Message: Mixcraft Won't Record Audio Track

Post by TheHound »

Here's the message I get after I arm the track and press record.

There was an error creating the recording file.

Your recording path may be invalid or you may not have permission to write files to the path.

It will record virtual instruments. It does the same think on every project.

I have rebooted my computer and restarted the program several times.

Is this fixable?

After I clicked monitor incoming audio it would record and now it records when I'm not monitoring audio. So it seems like the problem resolved itself for now. I only monitor incoming audio when I use exclusive mode because 20ms of latency to too much. When I use exclusive mode Mixcraft stutters even when it says it is only using 20% of system resources. Last night I had to keep re doing bass guitar and guitar tracks. It did it at the same point in the song. I shut down all the unnecessary crap in task master it seemed to help. This brings me to another question. If I turn off effects in tracks will it make Mixcraft run more smoothly? Will freezing tracks help.

It makes me a bit nervous that seemingly out of the blue it did this. Hopefully the problem is resolved. Should I be concerned?

Would force single CPU make Mixcraft run more smoothly?

Overall I'm pretty happy with Mixcraft. I've been using it for nearly two years and have enjoyed using it and happy with the results.

Thanks.

Almost certainly - try freezing (you can always un-freeze if you need to make retrospective adjustments).

I should mention that I'm running 6.1. The is really the only issue I've had and now it appears to be a non issue other than some stuttering is exclusive mode.

Probably going to buy it out right as I am getting a new computer in a few months. I'll probably go with the pro version. Feeling brave.

Hi,

If you own Mixcraft 6, you can upgrade to Mixcraft 7 at a lower cost.
