Just downloaded the demo and I can confirm it works fine in Mixcraft 7.
To install use the installer and select where you want the files to go (I would suggest that you use the same vst folder that you use for your other vsts - if you are not sure then accepting the defaults should work).
Once it is installed open Mixcraft 7 (if it was already open you can rescan for new vsts - but to be honest I find it easier to simply close and then restart Mixcraft).
Open an instrument track and load the Catanya instrument and then load another instrument directly below it (I used Pianissamo) like this
Now Edit the Catanya instrument and use its browser to choose a pattern - I chose one of the piano patches.
Now play some notes (using the musical typing keyboard if necessary).
Now you will get some arpegiated notes played.
