Multiband Sidechain Compression

Does anyone know of an effective way to do this in Mixcraft? I mean, sure I can duplicate a track and break it up into highs and lows using eq and then just apply side chain compression (using side kick 6) to one of the tracks but that's probably the least efficient work around possible.

I have Fabfilter Pro MB and I can't use its sidechain capability because there doesn't seem to be a way to route one tracks audio into an effect in mixcraft so the sidechain in MB has no external input to trigger the compression. Would really love to be able to find a good way to do multiband sidechain compression to get my mixes cleaner.

Thanks

Native sjidechaining will be available in Mixcraft 8 so you just have to be patient to doing it properly :/

That's good to hear that they're finally adding that. is there an ETA on when v8 is coming out? (and also upgrade cost from 7?)

EDIT: do you happen to remember where you read that? I'm curious as to what other functions they are adding to the DAW in 8

Don't quote me but I believe I read where one of the moderators said there will be sidechain compression capabilities in MC8, it's probably been the most requested feature for the upgrade. No date or pricing has been set but I would imagine that the pricing would be similar to upgrading from MC6 to MC7, again, I'm just making a guess.

It's been stated once or twice in the Mixcraft feature request thread. Sidechain is definitely coming, but nobody outside of the Acoustica team knows how it's going to be implemented.

I think it's been mentioned that we are probably a year out from getting an official Mixcraft 8 release. To my knowledge, MX8 has not yet hit the beta team, and you can expect a good six months of the beta testers putting Mixcraft through the wringer before we can expect an official release.
