Track automation

Post by goettel »

Hey, considering jumping into Mixcraft, but I can't find an answer to the one question I have left: do all versions of Mixcraft have effect parameter automation, including Home Studio 7?

I'm ignorant. What's an example of an effect parameter?

My question is: is this possible in Home Studio 7 too, or just in the regular/Pro Studio versions?

I am not very familiar with the details of the Home Studio version, so I cant say more than "I think so".
Have you tried the Mixcraft 7 demo? Home studio version might be fine for some, but I suspect many users opt to upgrade to the full regular version.
A know it has track count limitations and limited mix-down format options, but I am pretty certain it is fully functional in regard to the question.

Greg, Eric or someone else from Acoustica should be around to confirm or correct soon.
Stay in tune, Mark

Hi,

Mixcraft Home Studio 7 does not have effect parameter automation, it only has volume and pan automation, and that's one of the reasons it costs less. For a list of Mixcraft Home Studio 7's limitations, you can look at page 5 of Mixcraft's help manual.

I stand corrected. Thanks Greg!

Harry, that is but the tip of the iceberg. Some useful abilities there amongst the chaff too!

Hi Greg, Concerning Track automation:
Not certain if this is an MXPro7 Bug or ??? But Track automation does not seem to follow the clips when they are moved.
  • Open A Project that has Track Lane automation such a volume.
Put cursor in clip area, Cntl-A to select all tracks/clips,
    Link all Clips,
Grab a clip and drag all clips to the right,
Clips all move but the lane automation does not.
Am I missing something?

Hi,

Automation won't automatically follow moved clips. If you want the automation to go, you can select the clips and the automation and copy and paste everything.
