Hey everybody, wasnt sure exactly where to post this but i was wondering if anybody knew a good way to get a lo fi type acoustic fuzz using just mixcraft pro studio and a scarlett 2i2 with a taylor acoustic electric. Im looking for a tall dwarves/ neutral milk hotel type sound.

Hmm, OK, theres not much discernable as acoustic guitar there, but I get the overall idea. And moving to another song (something about an airplane over the sea) there is a "clearer" example of acoustic guitar that is "fuzzy".

Obviously the style is "lo-fi" which is basically distorting most everything to varying degrees.

Its hard to judge just what you are going for exactly, but you might try a little lo-fi distortion, the general idea being to add enough to trash it up a bit, then maybe a little more....

You'll have to experiment, and there's many possibilities and methods- but to start I'd try:
Acoustica distortion, starting with the "a little rough around the edges" preset and tweak to taste-

Another option might be to use Shred, try the "warm fuzzy" preset and turn down the gain and drive etc. a little.

You could also use the Pultronic EQ, try the "dirty rock & roll" preset.

If you're talking of the Neutral Milk Hotel album, great one! For me the real lo-fi band was/is Guided by Voices, lo-fi goodness!
