An option to add a note to a track? (no pun intended)

Post by MVH »

Hi!

Ok, this UI improvement suggestion for the "nice but not necessary" section: an option to enter a couple of lines of text for each track.

A possibility to write a short note for each track, e.g which effects did I use when I recorded this track. If I later want to re-record it with same sound, I could check out the notes to see the correct settings. Or which chords did I use, or things like that.

Cheers,
Marko

I second your suggestion.

I also think it would be a pretty handy addition to this already marvelous piece of software indeed.

Could even be some sort of "mouse over" appearing text when you put your mouse over the name of the track or something like that?

Same here.
I would like to add notes for which guitar I used, which preset in Guitar rig, etc.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll pass it along.

What you can do right now is change the name of the track by clicking on it. So, instead of "Track 1," you could change it to say "lead guitar" or "kick drum" or whatever.

I knew you'd say that.

Well, not exactly that. :D

Anyway, I did log this as an official feature request. I just wanted to mention the track name thing since it's not immediately obvious that you can do that and not everybody knows about it.

There's always a smartace present, isn't there?

Yes that's a very handy feature.
I use the track name just for descriptions like

Drum1
Bass2
Lead1
Rythym1
Solo1

That's the answer!

You could write the notes on a piece of paper with a Sharpie, take a picture of the notes with a digital camera and load that in as the image for the track.

Piece of cake.

How about Crayon instead of a sharpie.
Will that work?

Yes.

NOTE: crayon notes require 5 megapixel digital camera or better*.

*Yellow crayon not supported.

i was literally referring to a real crayon lol.- but while we're @ it... why not list tracks in different colors on a dry erase board & photo that.i do it for my cooking menus and it just takes a glance.
