VST names in Mixcraft 7

Hi!
When I plug a VST instrument in my Mixcraft 7 project, the name of the instrument (e.g. Cello) doesn't display.
No matter which VST instrument or VST voice (choir) I put in my mixcraft project, the external VST instrument's name does not appear. It is very annoying because I can see only "VST instruments" (without any specific names) in my project and can't find later which instrument I have used.
So far I put the names myself but it requires to write the whole path: e.g. Goliath-Acoustic Drumkits-Funk Kit1 and it takes time...
Hope there is an easy solution to this problem.

Hi,

Are you using Mixcraft version 7.7 build 316? If not, try updating.

Where are you looking? On the clips themselves? What do you see if you look to the left of the track?

If you choose the virtual instrument first, the clips you create will have the name of the virtual instrument.

With Mixcraft 7, you can select a group of clips and rename them all at at once.

Greg

B 316 7.7 displays like this as Greg mentions. Tracks 1 & 4 & 5 are Acoustica instruments and the rest are 3rd party vsti's. All the names remain intact when saved / re-opened as a MX file.

Hi :)
Thank you both for answering.
In my Mixcraft 7.7 built 316 project the VST names don't appear. Please see the Print Screen below.
I choose VST in Mixcraft and then record something, but nothing changes, neither the recording's name nor the name on the grey area on the left. Each track is named "play_VST_x64".

(Sory, I couldn't put an image from my computer to this post, so I had to put the picture in my dropbox and put you this url.)

Mixcraft recognizes the Play player. Any libraries you load in will still appear as 'Play' in Mixcraft. You have to manually name the instrument of the library you are using. Hint: While Play is generally solid, depending on the version it can crash inside Mixcraft. In which case it is always wise to name the track the same as the patches used for quick recovery and future reference.

OK, thanks for a quick reply. If there's no remedy, I'll name them manually. Cheers! :)
