MIDI auto-quantize feature
Hi, MIDI auto-quantize feature. Were exactly do you find this feature in MC 8 Pro? I looked in the help section of MC 8 but was unable to locate anything associated with this new feature. Thanks...Gedcoz

Hi,
Open the midi file in the "sound" tab, click "Midi Editing" and then on the top of the drop down menu, there should be "Quantise". At least, I hope that's what you're after.
I hope that helps.

Click on the drop down menu next to the arm button on a virtual instrument track.
With some experimenting, you will likely figure the rest out.

Yep. One of many little things that snuck in there........

I'm presuming that 'auto' means it's quantizing when the midi input is being done live? -h

Actually, it's quantizing once the recording is finished, so it's the same as recording, then going into Piano Roll MIDI editing and applying the quantize option. But this saves you those extra steps.

Re: MIDI auto-quantize feature
Of course, the function may work better in some efforts than others.
Given my sloppy efforts at keyboarding, I have had mixed results. But if for example I am entering a rhythmic 1/4 note sequence and want it to snap to the grid, it saves a step.

Re: MIDI auto-quantize feature
I thought it might save some steps to keep from having to 'de-humanize' a piece only to humanize it again. It does now in a different way so that's a plus. Mine were strictly selfish motives though. I was hoping to accommodate myself because I like syncopating different VSI's on the fly. -h
Re: MIDI auto-quantize feature
I know this thread is hella old, but I do not see that auto-quantize feature on next to my a button :/.
Could you please tell me what version that is on? Currently still working with 7.7 pro, but will be upgrading to 9 next week.

Re: MIDI auto-quantize feature
I dont think that feature was in MX7. I am pretty sure it was added in MX8.
But that was a long time ago.....
