Hi all,

Mixcraft 8.1 has been released! New orchestral loops and everything.

Check for updates under the Help menu, then quit Mixcraft while the patch downloads in order to install.

ok, so, forget my first question.

it seems that I had something else turned on.
i just tried to go back so that I could tell you all, but, now I forget how I discovered it.

Anyway, I am now able to record without the doubling effect, or crazy repeat echo.

Thanks.

It's probably some Indians in Bangalore doing the programming, anyway 8)

Great update. I don't know if you fixed it on purpose or not, but when I went from 7pro to 8pro I was a bit annoyed by the fact that when in piano roll I would lose my place when moving from track to track and have to scroll to the end every time I change tracks. Now its fixed! I thought I would just have to live with it, no big deal. But now I elated. Love my Mixcraft. LOL, I'm such a dork.

I still don't know whether to upgrade to v8. My biggest gripe with MC has always been the included crappy plugins. So far I am using MC7 32-bit, but I suppose if I upgraded to the 64-bit version, many if not all of those cheap plugins would have to be bridged, right?
I like MC's DAW component and interface, it is old-skool like me. I only wish one could keep all plugins and corresponding patches from being installed in the first place. I would drop in my own plugins and it would be very pleasant and lean system.

Can't you just go into the plugin management dialog (sorry can't remember the exact name and I'm not in front of a computer with MC on it) and disable the plugins you don't want to use?

Well, the problem is not using it or not, but I don't want it on my computer in the first place. Like those shady G-Sonique plugins for instance, or SynthEdit plugins.
I wish Acoustica would pay more attention to quality rather than quantity. It would make much more sense to license for instance the Toneboosters track essentials suite instead of including all those mediocre equalizer and such plugins.
As far as I know the developer of those ancient Kjaerhus plugins has turned out to be the boss of a pedophilia and child pornography network.

Hi,

A lot of the plugins have 64-bit versions now, but some (like the Classic effects, for example) will never be updated because the creator is not working on them anymore.

And, as elaw points out, you can click on the File menu, select Manage Plug-Ins, and un-check any plugins that make you sad.

Managing plug ins is one of the simplest functions in Mixcraft.

And on top of that, doesn't anybody ever edit VST folders and delete some unwanted or unused items? :?:

Yes, frequently. But mostly to delete 64 bit versions from the 32 bit folder and vice versa and to remove aax and mac folders. I have no idea what .dpm files are so I left them when doing it this morning.

... Sorry, I was being lazy and read the last comment first, so I was not on subject properly.
Just to say again, I ain't giving up 'Classic Delay' without a fight. I don't see it as relevant what the programmer went on to do or not (I haven't checked yet)
