Melodyne issue after update to Mixcraft 8.1

Post by MXCRFT864 »

I had already registered Melodyne in Mixcraft 8 Pro. But after opening it in the 8.1 version for the first time today it said I had to activate again and treated the activation like it's on a different computer. So it used up 2 activations for the same system now. Anyone else have this problem after update to 8.1?

Mixcraft 8 Pro 64-Bit on Dell Optiplex 755 with 2.83Ghz Xeon Quadcore 8) and 8GB RAM. Windows 7 64-Bit.

Yes, I had to re-activate as well.

I am confident that if the number of activations were to become an issue caused by updates, additional activations would be available if necessary.
Stay in tune, Mark

See what I mean? It used to show that I still had 1 more activation left to use.

That message box looks like it has deactivated the 8.0 installation and activated the 8.1 one. That's why it doesn't mention the number of installations. That should only come up when it senses a totally fresh installation, not a de-install/re-install process. So it should be fine. I've seen that happen with other software. (At least it's not on a elicence ilok installation. Those things are a disaster area.)

Last time I checked it said I had 1 more install left. Now it says this is it. No more installs.

Would this update undo any work done in melodyne as well? I don't want to have to retune vocals just because of this update. . .

Hi,

If you end up needing to install it again and you have any problem with the activation, you can contact Celemony.

Hi,

It shouldn't, unless maybe you're using some really old beta version or something.

Try to activate it with these instructions:
Launch the stand-alone implementation of Melodyne....
I'm not sure why having a Dell Optiplex 755 is relevant to the instructions (other than it's in the OP's sig).

The rest seems to be okay, copy-pasted from Celemony's help. So... thanks? :)
