Melodyne Problem

Hi,

I'm using mixcraft 8 - 380.

Is Melodyne buggy? I keep getting erratic results.

1. Some of the controls are greyed out and don't function. { track mode
button }

2. It sometimes finds the song key right away, other times doesnt even seem to attempt it.

3. Once, it allowed me to press the button to start work, now that
doesn't appear anymore.

I'm running 64 mixcraft, but apparently the melodyne plug is 32.

4. Does it matter if you select melodyne as an FX track effect, or not?

I'm real disappointed and have gone back to g snap.

Any ideas whats going on ?

We are at build 396 currently.
You should re-download Pro Studio 8 and do a fresh install, see if that helps.

PS: When the installer asks if you want to reinstall/repair Melodyne, choose yes.

I can try that.

However, this is a brand new install current. My windows
hard drive died this week - and this is a brand new w7 install, and
Mixcraft 8.

I had the exact same problem with the previous install.

Hi,

If you have build 380, you're using out of date software, so you should definitely update.

Do you have the Pro Studio version of Mixcraft 8?

The "Track Mode" option is not available in Mixcraft 8 Pro Studio's integrated version of Melodyne; you can only work on one clip at a time.

Update,

Ive reinstalled Mixcraft, and updated melodyne.

It still appears unworking - like its dead, and doesn't do anything.

The notes shown are a flat line - no scale, plus it doesn't search for scale.

{ like it did only one time}

Does anyone have a tutorial of how its working?

You try to uninstall Mixcraft then reinstall, do not choose to install Melodyne. Then download the Melodyne Plugin and install it.
You will use the functionality of Melodyne directly as you install Mixcraft that includes melodyne.

If you do it my way, you will not need to add melodyne as a track plugin ...

Do not install the mixable melodyne of mixcraft, install Melodyne 4 studio after you install mixcraft. You will use the perfect melodyne, without adding to the plugin track, it has been integrated into the Sound Editor

Try to try my way again. When I installed Mixcraft, the software asked me if I have a melodyne set, and I chose not to, because my computer already has the latest melodyne available.

lachinhan, if I read this correctly, you already own a copy of Melodyne Studio v.4

Guitbuddy has not said that he owns a version of Melodyne other than the one that comes with Mixcraft Pro Studio 8, so maybe he can't do it your way.

If true, his best bet is to reinstall per the instructions of Acoustica Eric, and then study the documentation for the methods and limitations of the version included with Mixcraft Pro Studio.

Yes , I do not use melodyne built into mixcraft, I installed melodyne studio v4.1 and used it as melodyne built into mixcraft.

No It wasnt!!! It seems to be working now! { note there seems to

be a default setting, that was not going to melodic }

2 I see I can upgrade to Studio for 199.00 us. I would have considered
this option, but hurray to Alleyoop - it seems to be working!

would upgrading give me significant benefits?

[ Yes, I only have the version that comes with Mixcraft { although it updated
automatically when I registered it again }.

3 I didn't originally use it as a track plugin -- just selecting the track, and
opening the panel in sound. As I said, it only seemed to work once.
At the ensuing failures - I noticed it was also available as a track plugin
-- and thought that might be what I was not doing right. ]
