I'm having trouble using a custom made drum map for MT Power Drum Kit in Mixcraft 8. I went the the "Help" section in MC and followed all the steps but some of the steps don't seem to applicable to my setup. Not sure why, just looking for any help.
Thanks!

Re: Custom Drum Map usage
Hi,
You created a custom drum map from scratch using the instructions in the help manual? What steps don't seem applicable? How far did you get? What happens if you try to use the drum map?

Re: Custom Drum Map usage
Hi Greg, sorry for my delay...here we go.
Simple drum map. Seems ok to me. Could be wrong. According to the instructions via the "Help file" I should place this file in %programdata%\Acoustica\Mixcraft\drum-maps7\ folder.
My issue is I have no "drum-maps7" folder just these... So I guess my initial question is where should I be putting my drum map txt file?
Now the Help file goes on to talking about another step involving using Excel or another program similar. That stuff I have no idea about but I'll cross that bridge next....
Thanks!

Re: Custom Drum Map usage
Hi,
It goes in:
C:\ProgramData\Acoustica\Mixcraft\drum-maps7
Assuming that's where your ProgramData folder is.

Re: Custom Drum Map usage
I guess what I was trying to convey with the screenshots of my "Acoustica" folder is that I have no "drum-maps7" folder nor do I have a "Program Data" folder you mentioned.

Hi,
Maybe you have your Windows system files hidden? Check it out: Show hidden files
Or, you could just copy and paste the following line into the Windows File Explorer address bar:
%programdata%[Acoustica\MixcraftHS\drum-maps7
This assumes you have Home Studio. If you don't, leave out the "HS".

Re: Custom Drum Map usage
What you are successfully conveying is agreement with my feeling that you shouldn't need to be a programmer to perform these kinds of functions.
IE: Custom drum map creation could be more intuitive and user friendly perhaps.
Just sayin'
Yep, probably hidden, thank you Microsoft.
If I copy and paste the line "C:\ProgramData\Acoustica\Mixcraft\drum-maps7" into the windows search bar,
I can take a shortcut to the folder.
Creating the new file is the next trick. Time is short, I wanna make music not program drum maps.......

Re: Custom Drum Map usage
Boo-Yah! Found it! Thanks. Now I guess I'll see what happens. Thanks mang!
Addendum: dropped it in that folder, opened up MC and that particular drum plugin, found the map the proper drop down box and ready to start kicking beats like a guitar player who don't know jack about drumming...
