6.1 will no longer record
Why did I all of a sudden lose the recording part of 6.1. I was Recording had the drum track laid down
had to leave for about an hr. came back to lay down the vocals and it would no longer work.
I have been using this software for years now so I know how to set it up.

Re: 6.1 will no longer record
More info please, e.g., OS? Does it record using Mixcraft 8?
Re: 6.1 will no longer record
I am using windows 7 Home prem. running through Alesis Mixer USB. I don't have mixcraft 8
I have 6.1. Seems every time You start pushing a newer version the old one stops working,
at least that is what happened the last time I had to upgrade. WHY?

We don't do anything to the old software when a new version is released, but we're always fixing bugs and problems along the way, and Mixcraft 6 owners can upgrade to Mixcraft 8 cheap.
That said, have you tried just restarting your computer? Maybe your audio drivers are in a tizzy. If that doesn't help, what are you recording: audio or MIDI? What is your recording source?

Re: 6.1 will no longer record
yes I have restarted my PC and I record my own vocals.
You may not do anything to older software but I know that
I had to upgrade to use it the last time and I do not wont 8 at any price,
when 6.1 did ever thing I wonted to do. I am 74 years old so all
the stuff in your Library is useless too Me. I cant relate to your Rock.
and there is very little country style there

Hi,
There's a lot of handy stuff in Mixcraft 8 besides new loops, but let's get back to the problem.
When you arm the track, which recording source are you selecting? Click on the small arrow next to the Arm button on your recording track. Which device do you have selected there?

Re: 6.1 will no longer record
It could of course be a static electricity build up problem in your computer, the answer to which would be to do an I.T. reset (i.e. take out the power lead [and, if it's a laptop, the battery also], hold the power button in for 30 seconds, then [re-attach the battery, if applicable], plug in the power lead, reboot) and try again, before doing anything else.
Alternatively, it could be a Windows 7 update, or even your Windows registry might need cleaning.

Try my first suggestion first and see if it helps. It's worth trying. Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

If audio is coming into your computer, and you have the correct recording device selected, then Mixcraft will record it. Are you using ASIO4All in Mixcraft's Sound Device preferences or WaveRT? Does either one of those modes work?

Re: 6.1 will no longer record
Ok I did a restart pulled the plug as per your inst. I have Reg. cleaners that I can use on my Pc.
Still the same thing I can see by the flashes on my mixer when I tap the Mike that it is working.
Is there any where that I can download 6.1 again?

Re: 6.1 will no longer record
Hi,
It's probably something very simple. Check all the basics. If you right-click on the small volume icon in your Windows taskbar and select Recording Devices, then sing into the microphone, do you see the level indicator moving on any of the recording devices?

Re: 6.1 will no longer record
Greg
I tried all of that before I made contact with you.
It has to be something in the Software or my Sound card
of witch I did a trouble shoot on, I will just have to keep trying.
I cant understand why it was working when I laid down a drum track
then when I came back after about an Hr. to do the vocals it
would not work.
Thanks for your time.
