Build 412 has been released.

Post by Acoustica Greg »

Hi all,

We've got a new build of Mixcraft v8.1 available. Check for updates under the help menu, then quit Mixcraft as the patch downloads to install it.

Build 412 contains a bunch of fixes: Mixcraft 8 Version History

It includes a fix for the problem with the IK Multimedia T-Racks and Modo Bass plugins, because although the problem was on their end, we worked around it in order to get a solution out there as soon as possible.

It also includes a new ASIO option that might help people who can't get their ASIO drivers to work with Mixcraft 8. A customer had a Zoom G3 that allowed buffer settings it didn't actually support. The new option is called "Use Driver's Preferred Settings."

I found the build 412 and downloaded ... when opening the installer, clicked on valid registration code, pasted in
registration ID and registration code, provided to me when I purchased build 408, obviously that's associated with build 408. What should I do to update?

Hey this is great Greg, long overdue.
The Soundspot plugins appear to be working properly now and both Messiah and MinimogueVA had stopped working here many months ago but I couldn't be bothered getting into it all, they just would not load despite repeated re-installations and cleaning of the file locations etc (they stopped working in Mixcraft 7 too), both have now reappeared and are working great, which I needed for backward compatability of Project files.
Well done to whoever did the work as I won't have to throw the computer out the window :D

You should just have to re-install the software, the registration codes should not be needed if they are going onto the same system

mmmmm - went through the usual protocol, re-booted the comp but it still shows as v408?

EDIT: When clicking the 'help'>check for updates, it still says a new version is available. Tried downloading 3 more times - still sitting with 408..

Go to your account page and download it from there. That's how I did it (and I uninstalled 408 and installed 412)

OK got it sorted! Problem with the taskbar icon.

I installed an older version (308) from my downloads folder, and it immediately picked up the update. All good now thanks guys :D

Can 412 be installed alongside 408 or does it have to overwrite it?

HI,

You could set it to install into a different folder if you want, assuming you're not patching it.

I found the build 412 and downloaded ... when opening the installer ...tried demo selection ... ran through the install.

My main concern, was the send dails now retain their position when returning to a project.

I could be suffering from Sonar association ... I see an update launch under help "check for updates"

Hi,

If you have build 412 installed, it should say that you're all up to date when you check for updates.

EDIT -- I was wrong about this. This issue has not been addressed in Build 412.

Is it just my imagination, or does the new build address this problem:

http://forums.acoustica.com/bbs/viewtop ... 3&p=110908

where .dll files that are not VST plugins (used to) get rescanned everytime Mixcraft starts up? Unless I'm mistaken, Build 412 no longer spends time re-examining these files.

One thing it fixes, which seems to have been fixed as mysteriously as it broke, is the issue with Sonivox Orchestral Companion Strings and Sonivox Harpsichord where note playback would be truncated when Mixcraft was in loop mode.

Happy day for me!
