Default Device Settings Problem

I've been using Mixcraft for almost a year now and never had any problems with the software. I opened it today and got this error.

Set Default Device Settings?
Mixcraft experienced a fatal error initializing your sound device the last time it was run. Would you like to reset Mixcraft's settings to use the default sound device settings?

I don't even know what that means..lol. I clicked yes and it froze...rebooted computer and opened again...same error message...chose no this time and froze as well. Then the New Hardware box opened and it began searching but couldn't find anything. I uninstalled Mixcraft and redownloaded...installed...rebooted computer and it still keeps happening.

Any suggestions?

It seems that Mixcraft crashed and then fixed itself

Sounds like the input / output soundcard device could not be found.

The driver was screwed up or changed, maybe by winders doing it's auto plug and play thing?

Hard to say.
