Record track mutes

Post by Freerskier »

Ive tried the various ways via the automation lane to record track mute/unmute button presses.

I can record fader moves in the mixer but not the click/unclick of the mute button. Ive got to be doing something wrong here as I'd imagine this is possible.

Hi,

What about just dropping the fader all the way?

Yeah, thought about that Greg but its really a job to mute/unmute. They are quick edits to silence then switch back on a vocal backing harmony. Cumbersome with a fader.

Is it possible to record the action of the mute button?

I'm guessing this is not a feature and I'm not sure I've heard of it being one in any DAW (tho I'm probably wrong about that). Either way, great feature idea for a feature request :)

No it's not. I can't see the point of such a function, it would be too inaccurate. presumably that's why it does not exist.

I delete the clips in the places where silence is required, which affords total control over accuracy. This gives the added advantage of being able to "see" the silence easily.
