No issues with Win10 at all here - my current machine came with it preconfigured, which may be a plus, although my old Win7 machine also upgraded without incident.

I think in general that computers with relatively recent, widely-available components tend to be OK - it's often older, niche gear that causes problems, usually with third-party drivers.

But your mileage may vary - what have you heard?

I was on 7 and took the free upgrade - never regretted it. Why would you want to work with outdated software, I thought - and besides support for 7 will become a thing of the past I'm told.

I've even read that with the latest updates, Win is at least on a par with Mac.

For me, some things took some getting used to, and there's some things I still dislike- example: the way the "minimize, maximize, close" icons are gray on gray with reduced visibility, and many other subtle little things that make me think "what were they thinking?" as compared to older versions of Windows. But I have to agree with Trevor, kind of have to bite the bullet sooner or later. That and I set up a Win7 desktop that was a total letdown along the my journey.

The only thing I could add is that on my Win10 computer, the onboard audio drivers are a mess. Just a disaster of a headache from day one. But this would vary between systems and component providers I reckon, and isn't really Win10 specific.
Old USB Interface and its driver is fine.

New Ryzen 7 system on Win10 running Mixcraft 8 Pro on SSD
Mixcraft runs fine on Win 10.. no issues so far... but....
I still hate Win10 regardless, everything else was a pain or still is a pain in one way or another.
I have Win7 Ult. on fast 10k rpm hard drive..mixcraft is flawless. and so is everything else.
(waiting for another SSD for Win 7)
The only advantage i see is Win 10 handles graphics a touch better, (gaming)
and a work project seems to utilize cpu threads a little better than Win 7,
(8 core 16 thread Ryzen)
but Win 7 is better workhorse overall , and at handling all the nonsense jobs,
the website maintenace jobs, audio&video editing in other software etc. etc.
If you're not using you OS for gaming much,
my choice for a DAW workstation & all the other tasks is still Win 7,
but unfortunately Microsoft is going to make sure Win 7 dies eventually.
Just my 1/2 cent of advice.
