Can't route midi from VST inst to VST fx on same trk.

Hi, First post, using Mixcraft 8 and I'm trying to pass midi thru from an organ VST (Blue 3) to a Leslie
effects simulator (IK Tr5 Leslie) mainly to automate the slow/fast switch with cc64.(see attachment).

Now, the VST instrument midi is totally functional, but no midi passes thru to the effect just below.
Audio routes just fine.
Is there another midi, or track routing I should be trying?
Seems like it should work-- but doesn't. :?
Many thanks for any help!

OK, I figured it out.
There is a drop down box under automation that gives me
the option of the TR5 leslie. Had to scroll way down and select
TR5>Fast/slow switch>midi learn.
'Hope this helps someone.

Hello.

Thanks for posting the solution.

I actually did begin to respond to you yesterday (I have all that stuff from IKM as well) but then I realised it wasn't a problem with the audio in the chain (which worked for me when I tested yesterday after seeing your post) but rather MIDI not being passed through (so deleted my initial response).

Thanks again.

Regards,

Dale.

Hi TomH. Would you mind describing what you did, exactly, to enable the TR5 Leslie midi? Would be much appreciated. :)

Hi
Brother Charles

I found two ways to do this:

the First is to click the keyboard icon select an instrument (Blue 3 for example)
then right below select the effect ( IK TR5 for example)
Back on the main track window click the zig zag automation button (see pic 1),
then a click on track volume-- a drop-down menu should appear
cursor over effect(see pic 2), a side menu of controllable parameters appears.
Choose the parameter, then a midi learn box pops up.

The second (and easier way) is to click the keyboard icon select an instrument
then back on the main track click 'fx" select a effect.
Now here you can see there is a box "use midi from track ##" ( see pic 4)then you midi
learn. Done!

Hope that explains it!
