Thinking of Purchasing - Need Mixer Guidance First!

Post by njfunkmasta »

Hello, Forgive me if this is a stupid question, I am just used to studio recording vs. computers, so I am trying to catch up. I want a program that I can use to incorporate loops and live audio by single tracking for my solo projects, which I already know fruity loops can do. However, I also want to be able to record my band for demo purposes. Here's the question: If I buy one of those USB mixers (Mackie etc) can I plug all my instruments into that mixer and have them sync up with the tracks in fruity loops for simultaneous multi-track recording? In other words, if I plug drum mikes into tracks 1 - 5 on my mackie mixer, scratch vox on track 6, bass into track 7, and guitar into track 8, can I plug it into my computer USB and have all of those individual tracks correspond to the ones in Mixcraft 4?
