Laptop restarts automatically when open Mixcraft project

Straight to the point, I'm having Mixcraft 8 Recording Studio (32-bit). My laptop is quite old, Core 2 Duo T9500 2.60Hz 6MB Cache, 4GB RAM (2.85GB usable). Whenever I try to open Mixcraft and play a project, the CPU System Usage is about 20~30% 60°C but it constantly fells into restarting.
Can anybody help me to fix it? Many thanks.

My guess would be it's overheating (causing the restart).

I experience some thing similar and it was related to a wav file ballooning to 3.9G.

When my 4gb machine began its decent into the other world it would heat up and shut down after awhile no matter the program. Sounds like your machine is giving you a hint that it's time to back everything up and start shopping!

I recently had an issue with my cell phone where it would spontaneously reboot (even with 60% battery remaining) and go into a boot loop until I removed the battery and plugged the phone into a power source. The battery was old and going bad. I'm not sure if that translates into the world of laptops, but it's worth a look. Does the problem occur even when the laptop is plugged in? Might be a battery issue if it only happens on battery power.
