Quick update and then we can close this one out: I exchanged the Allegro 2 for a Casio PX-160 Privia. So far everything is working just fine.

Wow I saw this late you already got rid of you allegro =/
I have the same keyboard...all my problems (most) went away once i got a SELF POWERED usb hub (I now have 2 of them for 8 midi controllers and audio interface and 4 other usb things.)
a computer supply can only handle so much current at once and weird things happen when you try and power big devices like an 88 key williams allgro 2 and other stuff at the same time probably.
edit: Yup, allegro 2 works fine! I just was on it for 45 min and hooked it to mixcraft and used Pianissimo as the sound and mixcraft didn't crash or anything. :p
